Gorham "Bud" Newton
Gorham "Bud" Newton was born March 20, 1927, the son of Gorham "Beno" Newton and Mil Wright Newton.He served 1 1/2 yrs in the Army and spent 5 years at Syracuse Univ. where he earned his BA and MBA degrees. He joined General Electric in 1951, graduating from the Company's Business Training Program.
He taught classes for this program and worked in many sections within the Financial Dept. After 26 years with the International GE Division in NYC, and many trips to Europe, Britain, S. America and Puerto Rico, he was transferred to GE Headquarters in Fairfield, CT, working as Consultant, Federal Tax Accounting. After a distinguished career of 38 years with GE, he retired in 1989. He served as "consultant" for the next 3 years, after which he and Flo enjoyed travelling to many of the countries he had always promised to show her.
Bud and Flo (Maguire) had married in NYC on October 12, 1957. I remember dancing at their wedding, a happy day filled with a lot of love and laughter. They raised 3 wonderful daughters, and both Bud and Flo were devoted to their growing family. We lost Bud in 2001, and we lost Flo on January 2, 2018.

Bud, Flo and gals came to visit my family in Elmira in 1968, and are pictured at our front door. Next, we have a picture of the swimming siblings in 1971. The picture above right was taken in 2000 of the entire Newton clan.
Carolyn "Lynn" Newton Orrell
Carolyn "Lynn" and Paul Orrell live in Farmington, CT, and still really enjoy the town and area. They love to bike on the rails-to-trails in CT, NY, MA and RI. And travelling is a favorite for them - Baltimore and Australia especially. Lynn works in hospital information systems and Paul is a high school teacher.
Their sons are Eric Paul, born April 9, 1991, and Timothy Paul, born May 7, 1994. Eric has just moved to Sydney, Australia, to be with his girlfriend Alli. He left in July 2019 and expects to be there for one and a half to two years. He will continue to work as a RN and they plan to do quite a bit of travelling in that area of the world.
Tim has been living in Baltimore, MD, since October of 2016. He works at Under Armour and has made many new friends there. He considers it home, at least for now.

Valerie Ann Newton Centone
Val was born May 8, 1963. She was married for the second time (previous marriage in 1992 to Thomas Benedetto), on July 8, 2006, to Al Centone.
Val and her husband Al live in North Haven, CT. Val is a Reading Specialist at an elementary school in West Hartford, CT. She just completed her 30th year teaching. Al is a Customer Success Consultant with Staples Business Advantage. They enjoy spending time with family, going to wineries and weekend getaways.
Val's daughters, Gabrielle and Megan Benedetto share a common birthdate of May 15th, but two years apart. Gabrielle Lynn was born May 7, 1995, recently moved to Long Island. She is the Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations at Long Island University. Val's younger daughter Megan Nicole was born May 7, 1997. She lives in North Haven and is a Radiology Technician at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Pamela Newton Coombs
Pam and Rick Coombs live in CT. Pam works at Citizens Bank as a Direct and Digital Marketing Manager. Rick is the Executive Director of the non-profit organization they founded in 2015. It's called the Gorham Fellowship and it's a transition/sober living home in Bridgeport. They enjoy traveling and their 2 year old lab-mix puppy named Rosie.
Their oldest child, Jennifer Theresa, born August 29, 1989, married Brendon Michael Gyarfas on October 7, 2016. The couple live in North Reading, MA, with their Rhodesian Ridgeback "Roger" and tao cats Spencer and Anna. Jenny works in Human Resources for a Bio Pharmaceutical company and Brendon works for Whole Foods in their corporate kitchen. Their son Rowan Johnson Gyarfas was born December 11, 2020.
Emily Marie, born April 2, 1991, is a 7th grade special ed teacher in Fairfield, CT. She married Phillip Hydic, a Phys Ed teacher in Bridgeport on November 8, 2019.
Their son Richard Newton "Ricky" is an auto mechanic for a local Nissan dealership, He enjoys cars, motorcycles and playing with the family puppy Rosie.
